With the new school year come new challenges, new experiences, and, most importantly, new faces. The Benildean community welcomes a new batch of freshmen, swelling the ranks of the talented and the extraordinary. With every infusion of fresh blood, our institution acquires new flavor and new dimension, broadening the vast montage of human potential that CSB seeks to cultivate.

The froshies aren't the only new elements of Benilde, though. The Benildean Administration has had a few changes too: new staff members, new office designations and new mandates. Case in point: The College Communication Office, your loyal administrative vanguard of words and pictures, has now become the Development and Communications Office.

Powered by a new mandate, the DCO now manages Benilde's public relations, marketing and linkages. The DCO is Benilde's avatar to the outside world - we are the front line of Benilde's image, and the last word in Benildean intercommunication.

Along with everything else that's new in Benilde, there's also, well, me. I would like to humbly introduce myself, the new Assistant for Communications of the DCO. I follow in the footsteps of my esteemed predecessor, Rachel Torres-Kairuz, and I hope to live up to her achievements.

I must admit that I've never encountered a learning environment quite like Benilde's, and I continue to be impressed with the caliber of this institution and its constituents. Up until relatively recently, I was an outsider, and the image I had of Benilde was one that definitely doesn't do it justice. Now that I'm here, I intend to make sure that people find out just how wrong their misconceptions are, and just how remarkable CSB is.

We newbies have got long, challenging roads ahead of us. I'm sure, though, that we'll see things through to the best of our potential. Freshmen, as you discover what's remarkable in the College of Saint Benilde, you discover what's remarkable within yourselves. And I'll be learning the ropes right alongside you.

Let's find out just how brilliant we can be.
